Eat.Pray.Love Philippines Solo Adventure

Still on a high from my solo Pinatubo trek — and incidentally saw the movie EAT PRAY LOVE On HBO sometime last week — I thought I’d do a local version of it.

Since I don’t have the funds and definitely I can’t afford to quit my job and fly off to Italy to Eat, India to Pray and Bali to Love —I thought I’d do a provincial version on my own in my very own country. Inspired by what my cousin Monette (from Seattle) did — unlike her I can’t do a sabbatical and fly off to Australia, Manila and Hawaii on a whim ala Julia Roberts.

With the help of local group tours and the convenience of networking via my well-traveled friends, this shouldn’t be hard to accomplish!

So here are the initial planning stages of my EAT.PRAY.LOVE Philippines Solo Adventure!

EAT - Food Trip to Pampangga (c/o Travel Factor)

Breakfast at Everybody’s Cafe
Cooking Demo
Visit San Fernando Cathedral (if time permits)
Morning Snacks: Kabigting Halo-Halo
Buffet Lunch at Cucina ng Atching Lilia Borromeo
San Nicolas Cookies Cooking Demo
Visit Betis Church
Dinner at Aling Lucing’s Sisig

PRAY - A visit to Manaog, Pangasinan (c/o Victory Bus)

And yes possibly exploring the beaches of Pangasinan on my own!

LOVE - Place is still undetermined. As I don’t know where to find this. So maybe I can just visit several places under this category hope that in one of those places I find love :p And even if I don’t find (romantic) love — the flyin’ high solo — “lovin myself” more factor is something I will benefit from.

I hope to document this adventure online so I only need 3 things:

• determination
• super budgeting skills
• a new camera

I am crossing my fingers that I will be able to pull this all the way thru! :)
